  SPCA Annual Report  
SPCA Annual Report 2008

Objective: Design and create an annual report to progress and extend the organisation onward from a successful and well received report from previous year. Work with an established look and feel but add colour and positivity in expressing the 2008 theme of 'Enriching lives'. Be cost effective, as well as having impact.

Design Response:

  • Real story telling through rich, full page imagery and text to give meaning and purpose to the good work the SPCA undertake in caring for unwanted or abused animals. Each story is given more context on the inside back cover with an 'about these photos' panel.
  • Illustrations used to add visual interest to key initiatives/messages
  • A slightly cut down broadsheet format printed on low cost, recyclable stock, alternating between full colour (cmyk) and one colour (black) pages to keep print costs down.
  • A puppy jumper knitting pattern included on the back cover gives the report an extra 'life' beyond the initial read.

Fonterra Annual Report

Objective: To communicate and depict the scale and diversity of Fonterra and its brands and to feature the key messages while keeping the design simple and modest.

Design Response:

  • Opening double-page spread communicates the annual report theme - Capturing the Value of Milk
  • Illustrations used to add visual interest to key initiatives/messages
  • Image pages tell the "international stories" about brands and marketplaces
  • Map depicts the international reach of the organisation
     
  Fonterra Superannuation  
Fonterra Superannuation

Objective: Two specifically branded information packs designed for Fonterra employees, to present two specific superannuation schemes - the 'Fonterra' and 'Dairy Industry' Superannuation Schemes.

Design Response:

  • Interchangeable logo developed to brand all material
  • Plastic pack tailor-made to house a series of information booklets
  • Information designed to appeal to two specific audiences
     
  Fonterra GROW + EQUIP  
Fonterra GROW + EQUIP

Objective: Develop two guidebooks GROW / EQUIP - to be used by management to identify and develop key employees and assist with their personal goal achievement.

Design Response:

  • Robust laminated folders used to house material
  • Tabbing system to assist navigation
  • Design/layout allows for text to be translated into other languages
  • Templates designed and produced as Word files
  • Illustrations enhance communication and add visual appeal

Objectives: Specifically to showcase the successful completion of Pricewaterhouse Coopers Tower and communicate the success and quality of each of the Trust's investment assets.

Design Response:

  • Tower given its own mini profile within the report
  • Document text segmented to feature each building's key information
  • Strong bold colours and graphic design used to add impact
  • Graphic detailing used to add quality to the report
     
  Transpower Annual Report  
Transpower Annual Report

Objectives: Transpower's annual flagship document which conveys brand positioning, key milestones and achievements and forecasts the year ahead.

Design Response:

  • Introduces "softer" branding elements - ie colours and photographic style whilst remaining true to the core brand elements - black & white imagery/metallic inks
  • Uses feature spreads to profile key achievements
  • Introduces the people behind those achievements
  • Graphic detail used to convey quality
     
  Transpower Signage  
Transpower Signage

Objective: Provide impactful signage and way-finding in Transpower's new premises using the brand resources of photography, metallic colours and "grid" styling.

Design Response:

  • Impressive landscape signage designed for each lift foyer using blocks and squares offset from the wall to complement the interior design detailing

  • Reception and Foyer brand walls use strong black and white asset/grid operator images to communicate Transpower's business

Objectives: Brand and design communications to introduce the new Health and Safety in Employment Act

Design Response:

  • Use colour, layout and illustrations to "brand" the publications as ERS/OSH
  • worked in consultation with Trade Unions, Employers Federation, OSH & DOL
  • illustrations depict realistic "safe" work situations in a quirky manner
