|
| |
 |
|
 |
How to Play
- Schools collect specially marked "Stars of Rugby"
caps from 2 litre Meadow Fresh Family and Calci Kids milk.
- Schools login to www.starsofrugby.co.nz
enter their password and complete a weekly cap count update
for their school.
- The cap counts are collated and schools are ranked according
to the number of caps collected per student. Schools can then
see how they are ranked compared with others in their region
and school size group.
- If schools don't have Internet access they can use a fax
entry form to enter their cap count totals. To obtain this
form phone 0800 383 545.
- Schools need to keep the Stars of Rugby caps at school
throughout the competition. There is no need to send us
your caps unless your school is a provisional prize winner
and we need to verify your school's cap count.

How Major Prize Winners are Determined
- All participating schools are grouped into two South Island
regions. These regions are predetermined and cannot be changed.
Schools have been assigned to these regions using information
from the Ministry of Education. Within each region, schools
are grouped by the size of their roll so they can compete
with an equal chance of winning regardless of their school
size. There are three school size groups within each region:
- Schools with a roll up to 100 students
- Schools with a roll of 101 to 300 students
- Schools with a roll of 301+ students
Each school will be asked to confirm their school roll
size as at 12 August 2002 when they first login to the
website.
- The provisional winning school in each school size group
in each region, is determined by the following calculation:
Number of caps collected, divided by number of students
= average number of caps per student.
The school with the highest average number of caps collected
per student is the winning school in that school size group,
in that region.
Example:
School A: 1289 caps collected, divided by 110
students
= average of 11.71 caps collected per student.
School B: 1943 caps collected, divided by 190
students
= average of 10.22 caps collected per student.
In the above example, school A would be the winning school
in this school size group.
- At closing date, the provisional winning schools in each
school size group, in each region, with the highest average
number of caps collected per student, will have their count
verified by Mainland Products Ltd. If the school's count
is incorrect and is lower than the next highest school,
that next school will have their count verified. This process
will continue until a confirmed winner is found in each
school size group, in each region. Winning schools will
be advised during the week beginning 11 November 2002. Schools
must retain all caps until they are officially advised of
the winner in their school size group, in their region.
Once the competition winners are verified and confirmed
the details will be published on the competition website.
